Powerboat Training

RYAIf you are the driver of a high-speed powerboat, you have a responsibility towards other water users. The RYA Powerboat Scheme has been developed to advise you of that responsibility at the same time as training you to handle your boat, so that you and your passengers can all enjoy being afloat, safely. One of the strengths of the Royal Yachting Association lies in its training schemes. These practical training programmes can only be provided by recognized Training Centres like Triton Ribs. An awareness of the basic rules and customs of the sea coupled with courteous driving and a skillful approach to boat handling are what the powerboat scheme is to designed to teach you. So why not come aboard our RIBs and learn the ropes.

RYA Level 2

Powerboat TrainingThe RYA Level 2 Powerboat course is designed to teach boat handling and seamanship. We combine our courses with the RYA Level 1 course. This two day course emphasises practical "on water" skills using our 7m RIB, Argo or our 7.5m RIB, Triton. Alternatively you may wish to be trained in your own boat. At the end of this training, drivers are able to demonstrate competence in boat handling in a variety of conditions and situations. The minimum age is 12, however drivers under 16 years of age will have their certificates endorsed to state they can use boats under the supervision of an adult. Call for prices and availability

RYA Advanced Powerboat

Powerboat TrainingThe Advanced Powerboat course is essential for anyone wanting to navigate and operate their boats at night. The 2 day programme using both Argo and Renegade provides drivers with the skills to do this safely and is a prerequisite for anyone considering their MCA assessment
